The abrasive is resin-bonded to a durable cotton-cloth backing, creating a band that is water-resistant—great for normal use wet or dry. Use with a rubber drum arbor mandrel; the rubber expands to securely hold the band. Aluminium oxide offers hardness and strength that's ideal as an abrasive and serves as a very affordable substitute for industrial diamond. The abrasive fractures during use to continually expose a fresh cutting surface and its low heat retention makes it ideal for grinding and cutting work.
