Emerald Emerald-Cut Faceted Gemstone, A-Grade

Featuring an emerald-cut, this A-grade emerald displays a classic, timeless green color. The gemstone goes well with pieces that have an ancient style and pairs particularly well with yellow gold. Emerald is the birthstone for May. Emerald, a green variety of beryl, gets its color from traces of chromium and vanadium in its crystalline structure. Many emeralds are treated with Opticon or oil to enhance their color. All Rio Grande emeralds have been oiled; we do not offer emeralds treated with Opticon. The emerald-cut has a rectangle shape and cut corners. Its facets are concentric planes that resemble stair-steps around the circumference of the gemstone, above and below the girdle.
