Emerald Pear Faceted Gemstone, AA-Grade

This AA-grade pear-cut emerald is a perfect way to add classic, timeless emerald green to your jewelry designs. This gemstone, mined in Brazil, goes well with pieces that have an ancient style and pairs particularly well with yellow gold. Emerald is the birthstone for May. Emerald, a green variety of beryl, gets its color from traces of chromium and vanadium in its crystalline structure. Many emeralds are treated with Opticon or oil to enhance their color. All Rio Grande emeralds have been oiled; we do not offer emeralds treated with Opticon. The pear cut is a hybrid of the oval and marquise cuts; it is usually oriented with the point uppermost. Larger sizes are available by special order.
