Labradorite 16 x Faceted Oval Bead Strand

The faceted oval labradorite beads on this strand reflect light and draw the eye; an ideal choice for necklace and bracelet designs—the beads are a light bluish-gray and the amount of labradorescence varies from bead to bead. String the beads on their own to create a simple strung necklace or combine them with other gemstone and metal beads or pearls to create more complex pendants, bracelets and earrings. Complete the designs with silver or yellow-gold findings to highlight the beads’ color. Labradorite displays a unique reflection of light that is known as 'labradorescence.' This effect is due to geometric planes within the mineral structure at a submicroscopic level that are almost always oriented in one direction, but in such a way that they cannot be expressed by simple indices. Because of this, light reflecting from these planes produces an optical effect uniquely characteristic of this stone. Each package contains one temporarily strung 15"–16" strand.
