It features two round faces with differing domed shapes, allowing you to adjust the hammer to the depth and contour of the metal; start with the shallower face, then shift to the deeper face once you have achieved some depth. The hammer can be used with steel stakes or against wood, leather or other forms. Embossing (also known as repoussé) works metal from the back to create three dimensional forms. Picard hammers are made with a hardened and tempered steel head that ensures a long life. The handle is crafted from Ash wood and is sealed to provide a comfortable grip.
