Pitch Bowl, Base and Pitch Kit

This wide, shallow bowl offers a large, 5" diameter surface area that's ideal for shaping shallow workpieces. The rubber base and felt rings permit easy rotation and hold the bowl at a good working angle.

• Bowl is made of cast iron for stability.
• Kit includes one 8-oz. tin of black pitch. Pitch bowls are excellent for engraving, chasing or repoussé tasks; the best pitch holding device for these tasks should be heavy and rotatable. Sufficient weight ensures that the workpiece stays in place under the pressure of whatever forming tools are used for shaping the metal. The ability to rotate smoothly provides full and easy access to the workpiece from all sides. To use the bowl, heat your pitch and press it into place inside the bowl, shaping the pitch as needed for the work you're doing.
